Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What's your process? What is it like to work with you?
A: Check out our guide "The Experience" to learn more about the complete process of working with us.
Q: What's the difference between "editing" and "retouching"?
A: Good question!
Editing includes the initial adjustments to an image: cropping, color correction, shadows, highlights, contrast, brightness, etc.
Retouching takes it a step further with more advanced adjustments like removing distractions in the background, smoothing and shaping, wrinkle softening, teeth whitening, and for group photos, headswaps and composites (layering images to get the best pieces of each of them) to make sure everyone looks their best.
If can't do it in the moment with posing, I can do it with Photoshop. That being said, we like to keep things natural, so we only do retouching that is necessary or requested. Happy to discuss!
Q: What does "copyright-released" mean?
A: "Copyright-released" means that as the photographer, I have released the copyright to the images so that you can share, print, and post your photos as you please.
Q: What if I need something that's not covered in your session packages?
A: No problem! Simply contact us with details about what you're looking for, and we can create a custom package to meet your needs.
Q: How long is a photo session?
A: Photo session length depends on the package you purchase. Check out the photography page for all of the available packages including details like timing, what's included, and price.
Q: What if my kid is cranky during our photo session?
A: Not to worry! All kids have their moments during a session. We can take breaks for deep breaths, snacks, snugs, whatever they need. And I have lots of tricks to get smiles from even the crankiest kiddos. At the end of the day, we're trying to tell your story and meltdown moments are part of that story!
